Silvertips 2005-2006 Recap
The 2005-2006 season came to an end when the Silvertips were eliminated from the WHL Playoffs by the Vancouver Giants in the Western Conference Finals, but the Silvertips exceeded expectations by reaching the final four of the WHL Playoffs for the second time in three WHL seasons.

2006 SILVERTIPS PLAYOFF SCORING LEADERS
Silvertips forward Zach Hamill (3 goals, 11 assists) led the Silvertips in playoff scoring with 14 points. The Port Coquitlam, BC native also led the team in assists with (11). Shaun Heshka (3 goals, 10 assists) and Peter Mueller (7 goals, 6 assists) finished tied for 2nd on the team in playoff scoring with 13 points. Mueller also led the Silvertips in goals scored with (7). Defenseman Taylor Ellington (1 goal, 2 assists) finished in the top spot on the hockey club in +/- rating with a +6 rating. In goal, Leland Irving recorded 8 wins, 1.69 GAA, .938% SP and 3 Shutouts during the playoffs. Goaltender Matt Esposito relieved Irving during his injury and compiled a 3.41 GAA and a .873% SP.
SILVERTIPS PLAYOFF SPECIAL TEAMS RUNDOWN
The Silvertips ended the playoffs by going 12 for 84 (14.29%) on the power play and 66 for 74 (89.19%) on the penalty kill.
SILVERTIPS PLAYOFF OVERTIME
The Silvertips finished the 2006 WHL Playoffs with a 1-1 record in overtime. Overall in franchise history, the Silvertips are 7-4 in playoff overtime.
LONGEST GAME IN SILVERTIPS HISTORY
Game #5 in Kelowna on Friday, April 14 marked the longest game in Silvertips franchise history when the Rockets defeated the Silvertips 3-2 in double overtime. The game lasted 87 minutes and 50 seconds.
ALL-TIME PLAYOFF LEADERS
The Silvertips have played in 47 WHL playoff games in three seasons in the WHL. The Silvertips overall playoff record is 24-23 (7-4 in OT). Silvertips forward Zach Hamill (8 goals, 16 assists) is the franchise leader in playoff scoring with 24 points in 46 games. Hamill is also the franchise leader in playoff assists with 16. Torrie Wheat (6 goals, 15 assists) is 2nd on the hockey club in all time playoff scoring with 21 points. Mark Kress (8 goals, 11 assists) is 3rd on the all time playoff scoring list with 19 points. Kress and Hamill are also tied for 1st in playoff goals with 8. The Regina, SK native leads the Silvertips in +/- rating all time with a +9 rating in 47 playoff games with the Silvertips.
SILVERTIPS ALL TIME REGULAR SEASON RECORD
In the Silvertips first three seasons in the WHL the Silvertips have recorded 108 wins, 82 losses, 17 ties, 6 overtime losses and 3 shootout losses in 216 regular season games. The Silvertips are also the fastest modern expansion WHL team to reach 100 wins.
SILVERTIPS LEADING SCORERS IN 2005-2006 REGULAR SEASON
John Lammers (38 goals, 37 assists) led the Silvertips in scoring this season with 75 points. The Langley, BC native also led the Silvertips in Goals (38), Power Play Goals (16), Short Handed Goals (4) and tied for 1st in Game Winning Goals (6). Forward Zach Hamill (21 goals, 38 assists) and defenseman Shaun Heshka (10 goals, 49 assists) finished tied for 2nd on the team in scoring with 59 points. Hamill led the team in +/- with a +18 while Heshka led the club in assists with 49 helpers. Silvertips first year forward Peter Mueller (26 goals, 32 assists) led all Silvertips first year players in scoring with 58 points. The Bloomington, Minnesota native also finished 2nd on the hockey club in goals scored with 26. In goal, Leland Irving posted 37 victories this season and recorded a 1.92 Goals Against Average and a .926% Save Percentage with 4 Shutouts. Backup netminder Matt Esposito finished his first WHL season with 3 wins and posted a 2.48 Goals Against Average and .904% Save Percentage.
SILVERTIPS BREAK TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL FRANCHISE RECORDS
Throughout the 2005-2006 season the Silvertips broke a few franchise team and individual records. As a team, the Silvertips broke franchise records for Wins (40), Points Earned (85), Home Victories (25), Goals Scored in a Single Season (203), Power Play Goals (81) and Short Handed Goals Scored (13). Individual team records were broken by John Lammers who tallied the most Goals (38) and most Points (75) in a single season. Shaun Heshka set a new team record with most Assists in a single season with 49 while goaltender Leland Irving set individual single season franchise records in Wins (37), Saves (1504), Games Played (67), and Goals Against Average (1.92). The Silvertips recorded the most hat tricks in the WHL this season with 10. Peter Mueller and John Lammers tallied 3 hat tricks this season. Torrie Wheat added 2 three goal nights while Ondrej Fiala and Zach Hamill have recorded one hat trick this season. In the first two seasons combined, the Silvertips recorded 3 hat tricks. Out of the 10 hat tricks, 5 of them are the natural hat trick variety.

The Everett Silvertips would like to thank Torrie Wheat, Shaun Heshka and Mark Kress for their hard work and dedication for the last three seasons with the Everett Silvertips. Forward Torrie Wheat will end his WHL career as the all-time leading scorer in Silvertips franchise history with 126 points. The Nanaimo, BC native played in 174 games for Everett and recorded 49 goals and 77 assists. The 49 goals by Wheat, ranks him 1st in franchise history for goals scored. Wheat is also first in franchise history with 30 power play goals. Defenseman Shaun Heshka ends his WHL career 2nd on the Silvertips all-time scoring list with 107 points. The Melville, SK native played his entire WHL career with the Silvertips by playing in 204 games which is 1st in Silvertips history in games played. Heshka also is the all time Silvertips leader in assists with 82. Mark Kress finishes his WHL career by playing in 171 games for the Silvertips. The Regina, SK native added 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points for the Silvertips in the last three seasons.
WALL CALLED UP TO THE NHL
Goaltender Michael Wall became the first Silvertip to make the NHL when on October 20th when the Anaheim Might Ducks called him up from the Portland Pirates (AHL). Wall did not appear in any games but suited up and was the backup up goaltender. Wall played in 91 games for the Silvertips from 2003-2005. In 2004-05, Wall finished 5th in the WHL in Goals Against Average (1.92), 3rd in Save Percentage (.931), tied for 8th in Wins (24) and 2nd in the WHL in Shutouts (10). In the 2005 WHL Playoffs, Wall finished with a 2.15 Goals Against Average and a .936 Save Percentage.
