Silvertips 2006-2007 Recap
The Everett Silvertips 2006-2007 season came to an end when the Prince George Cougars defeated the Silvertips in six games of their Western Conference Semifinal series. For the Silvertips it was a tough way to end the season but the hockey club still accomplished some of their goals. The Silvertips captured their 3rd US Division regular season crown and was awarded the Scotty Munro Trophy for recording the best record in the WHL during the 2006-2007 regular season with a record of 54-15-1-2 (111 points). Silvertips forward Zach Hamill became the first Everett Silvertip to lead the WHL in points with 32 goals and 61 assists for 93 points. For leading the WHL in scoring, the Port Coquitlam, BC native will be awarded the Bobby Clarke trophy.

The Everett Silvertips organization would like to thank all of the fans, season ticket holders and corporate sponsors for another great season of Silvertips hockey. During the 2006-2007 regular season the Silvertips averaged over 6,400 fans and a total of 232,100 attended Silvertip games at the Everett Events Center. During the 2007 WHL Playoffs, the Silvertips averaged over 6,700 fans and a grand total of 40,708 fans attended playoff games at the Everett Events Center.
SILVERTIPS 2007 PLAYOFF SCORING LEADERS
Everett Silvertips forward Peter Mueller (7 goals, 9 assists) led the hockey club in playoff scoring with 16 points. Moises Gutierrez (5 goals, 6 assists) and Kyle Beach (5 goals, 6 assists) finished tied for second on the hockey club in scoring with 11 points. Mueller led the hockey club in goals scored (7) and assists (9). In goal, Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving finished 6-4-1 in the post season with a 2.82 GAA and an 88.7% SP.
2006-2007 SILVERTIPS REGULAR SEASON LEADING SCORERS
Silvertips forward Zach Hamill (32 goals, 61 assists) finished 1st on the hockey club in scoring with 93 points. Peter Mueller (21 goals, 57 assists) finished 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 78 points. Kyle Beach (29 goals, 32 assists) finished 3rd on the team in scoring with 61 points. Hamill led the Silvertips in assists (61) while Moises Gutierrez (35 goals, 20 assists) led the team in goals scored (35) and power play goals (24). Silvertips forward Kyle Beach led the hockey club in +/- with a +27. In goal, Leland Irving posted 34 wins, 1.86 GAA, 92.9% SP and 11 Shutouts. David Reekie finished 20-6 with the Silvertips and posted a 1.77 GAA, 92.5% SP and 3 shutouts with Everett this season.
SILVERTIPS BREAK SINGLE SEASON FRANCHISE RECORDS
The 2006-2007 US and WHL Regular Season Champions, Everett Silvertips broke several franchise records this season. The Silvertips broke single season franchise records in Wins (54), Points (110), Goals Allowed (142), Goals For (239) and Shutouts (14). The 142 Goals Allowed was the lowest in the WHL this season and ranks 4th all time in the WHL. The 14 Shutouts recorded by the Silvertips ties the WHL shutout record with the 2003-2004 Kelowna Rockets and the 2004-2005 Seattle Thunderbirds. Several Silvertips recorded single season franchise records during the 2006-2007 campaign. Zach Hamill broke single season franchise records in Assists (61) and Points (93) while goaltender Leland Irving broke single season franchise records in GAA (1.86) and Shutouts (11).
ZACH HAMILL CAPTURES BOB CLARKE TROPHY AS WHL's TOP SCORER
The Western Hockey League announced that Everett Silvertips forward Zach Hamill has captured the Bob Clarke Trophy as the WHL's Top Scorer. Hamill, an 18-year-old product of Port Coquitlam, B. C., earned the WHL scoring title by tallying 32 goals and 61 assists for 93 points in 69 games this season. He becomes the first member of the Silvertips to win the Bob Clarke Trophy as the WHL's top scorer. The 5'11", 190-pound center led the WHL with 61 assists and was third in the League in points per game average at 1.37. Hamill also enjoyed the longest point streak in the WHL this season, earning at least a point in 15 straight games. Hamill's outstanding season also included being named the Husky WHL Player of the Month for January and the BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week for the week of January 22nd - 28th. Hamill, who is eligible for the 2007 NHL entry draft, has played 183 regular-season games with the Everett Silvertips, and leads the franchise with 61 goals, 126 assists, and 187 points.
Bob Clarke captured the League Scoring title in both years he played in the Western Hockey League with the Flin Flon Bombers. In 1967-68, he recorded 51 goals and 168 points in 59 games, and in 1968-69, he scored 51 goals and 137 points in 58 games. In 1968-69, Clarke led the Bombers to victory in the WHL Championship. Clarke went on to play 15 seasons with the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers. He won two Stanley Cups, three Hart Memorial Trophies as the NHL's MVP, the Bill Masterton Trophy for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey and the Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward.

The Everett Silvertips organization would like to thank the three Silvertips overagers that ended their WHL career this week. The Silvertips would like to say a big Thank you to defensemen Jason Fransoo, Jesse Zetariuk and forward Moises Gutierrez for your hard work and dedication on and off the ice this season with the Silvertips.
Silvertips defenseman and team captain Jason Fransoo finishes his career with the Silvertips by playing in 143 regular season and 27 playoff games in his two seasons with the Silvertips. The North Battleford, SK won back to back Silvertips Ironman Awards (2005-2006/2006-2007) and was named 2nd team Western Conference All-Star after the 2006-2007 regular season. In his WHL career with the Swift Current Broncos and the Everett Silvertips Fransoo recorded 15 goals and posted 67 assists for 82 points in 259 career regular season games.
Defenseman Jesse Zetariuk was acquired by the Silvertips in a trade with the Moose Jaw Warriors in December of 2006. The Brandon, MB native was named an Assistant Captain by the Silvertips in January and posted a goal and 6 assists in 40 games with Everett this season. Zetariuk was also a +11 during the regular season with the Silvertips. In his WHL career with the Red Deer Rebels, Moose Jaw Warriors and the Everett Silvertips, Zetariuk played in 297 career WHL regular season games and tallied 16 goals with 64 assists for 80 points.
Forward Moises Gutierrez was acquired by the Silvertips in a trade with the Kamloops Blazers in the summer of 2006. The Anchorage, AK native led the Silvertips in goals scored this season with 35. In his WHL career with the Kamloops Blazers and the Everett Silvertips, Guiterrez posted 68 goals and 73 assists for 141 points in 326 career games.
KYLE BEACH WINS WHL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Everett Silvertips forward Kyle Beach was honored by the Western Hockey League as the 2006-2007 recipient of the Jim Piggott Trophy as the WHL Rookie of the Year. For the Silvertips, it is the second year in a row an Everett player has won the Jim Piggott Trophy. Last season, Silvertips forward Peter Mueller took home WHL Rookie of the Year honors.
Kyle Beach had a phenomenal rookie season with the Silvertips by leading all 16 year olds in the WHL in scoring with 29 goals and 32 assists for 61 points in 65 games. The Kelowna, BC native finished first among all WHL rookies in plus/minus (+27), second in power play goals (18) and tied for second in game winning goals (6) during the 2006-2007 regular season. Beach led the Silvertips in plus/minus (+27) and game winning goals (6) while finishing third on the hockey club in goals scored with 29 tallies.
During the 2007 WHL Playoffs, Beach finished tied for second on the Silvertips in scoring with 5 goals and 6 assists in 11 playoff games. The Silvertips first round selection in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft, also received the Everett Silvertips Rookie of the Year Award at the conclusion of the 2006-2007 regular season. Kyle, who will be eligible for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft also suited up for Team BC at the 2007 Canada Winter Games.
