Home Opener, Full Preseason Schedule Announced

Everett, WA - Everett Silvertips Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced Monday that the Silvertips will open their eighth season in the Western Hockey League at home against the rival Seattle Thunderbirds at 7:35 pm on Friday, September 24th.
The game marks just the second time that the Silvertips have opened the WHL regular season at home, and the first time since hosting the Tri-City Americans on September 21st, 2007 to begin the 2007-08 season.
The 2010 WHL Pre-Season schedule was also announced Monday. In addition to the Holiday Inn Preseason Classic, which will see the Silvertips take on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday, September 3rd, Tri-City Americans on Saturday, September 4th, and Seattle Thunderbirds on Sunday, September 5th, Everett will also travel to Kennewick, Washington for the Tri- City Americans' Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season Tournament. Everett is scheduled to play the Seattle Thunderbirds at 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 9th, and the Portland Winterhawks at 11:00 am on Friday, September 10th at the Toyota Center.
The Silvertips close out the 2010 Pre-Season by hosting the Seattle Thunderbirds at Comcast Arena on Friday, September 17th, and by traveling to the Ladner Leisure Centre in Ladner, British Columbia, to take on the Vancouver Giants at 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 18th.
Ticket packages for the Holiday Inn Preseason Classic are currently on sale by calling the Silvertips Offices at (425) 252-5100. Ticket packages, available for $80, include tickets to all nine tournament games as well as a pre-season game between the Silvertips and Seattle Thunderbirds at Comcast Arena on Friday, September 17 at 7:35 pm. Season Ticket and Package holders will receive information to order their seats through the mail; individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.
